On behalf of the school community, I extend a very warm welcome to all to our new school year. We especially welcome our new Junior Infant class and our new teacher, Ms.Kennedy. May I wish pupils and parents a wonderful year ahead.

Nollaig Shona agus Athbhliain Faoi Mhaise Daoibh Go Léir!
On Tuesday evening, December 13th, our pupils once again superbly entertained a packed audience in the Ringaskiddy Community Centre.Well done to all the boys and girls, the staff and the parents that helped to make this years Christmas Concert an outstanding success.
The theme for this years Port Of Cork Schools Initiative Competition was:
‘A Day in the life of a Cruise Passenger visiting Cork’.
5th and 6th class entered this fantastic project and it was on display with the other entries in the Cobh Heritage Centre for 6weeks.
We decided to base our project on…
The Top 20 things to do in Cork.
The biggest job we had was to pick the 20 best things to do in Cork! After a VERY LONG discussion, we picked our top 20!
We used felt and wadding to create our project and we were really happy with how it turned out.
We marked out lots of different towns around Cork and placed our Top 20 things to do on the map according to their location!
We then researched each place and displayed the information and prices on a backdrop.
Here are a few pictures of the project!
Today was a very eventful day! Parents and children gathered outside and we had our flag ceremony. We first read the original proclamation and then read our own new generation proclamation. Each class had an input in this proclamation. It includes our hopes and visions for the next 100 years. If you would like to read it, please click on this link! > https://www.scoilnet.ie/proclamationtemplate/proclamation/procid/795/
The oldest and youngest pupils, raised the flag and we sang Amhrán na bhFiann.
After this, we raised our new Biodiversity Green Flag that we received last week. This is our 5th Green Flag!
We then took to the roads and walked around the village for our annual St Patrick’s Day walk. The children looked fantastic all kitted out in their green white and orange! There was a fantastic turn out this year and we would like to thank everyone that made an effort to come!
We finished off the evening with some PIZZA! A big thank you to the Parents Association who organised this for all the kids!
Holidays tomorrow at 12pm, Happy Easter everyone!
